A Platoon Leader is the commissioned officer in charge of a platoon, His/Her direct superior is the Company Executive Officer. This person is usually a junior officer — a Second Lieutenant or First Lieutenant, or an equivalent rank. He/Her is usually assisted by one (1) or more Platoon Sergeant(s).

Role

The Platoon Leader leads the platoons under his command. He is also the point of contact to the Platoon Sergeants as part of his command.
