Military Occupational Specialty code or MOS, is a nine character code used in the United States Army and United States Marines to identify a specific job. Each MOS are labeled with a short alphanumerical code called a military occupational specialty code (MOSC), which consists of a two-digit number appended by a Latin letter.

Infantry Branch (IN)

Enlisted

  • 11B Combat Infantry (Includes soldiers formerly designated 11M (Mechanized) and 11H (Anti-Armor))
  • 11BV Ranger
  • 11BV/B4 Ranger Sniper
  • 11C Indirect Fire Support (Mortarman)
  • 11X Infantry Recruit (status upon infantry initial entry training; turns into 11B or 11C)
  • 11Z Infantry Senior Sergeant
