An officer is a member of Right to Rebel who holds a position of authority. Commissioned officers derive authority directly from a sovereign power and, as such, hold a commission charging them with the duties and responsibilities of a specific office or position. Commissioned officers are typically the only persons, in a military environment, able to act as the commanding officer (according to the most technical definition of the word) of a military unit.
Unlike the Enlisted Ranks, Officer ranks do not use Time In Grade as the major deciding factor as to if an Officer gets promoted. An Officer is able to be promoted once reaching the Minimum TiG only after being voted on by the E-Boards following a recommendation from their superior officer in their Chain of Command. Officers are also promoted only once a spot within the higher rank becomes available.
