In Right to Rebel, First Sergeant (1SG) is a rank (Administratively known as First Sergeant E-8 (1SG)). When you are talking about the First Sergeant you are talking about the lifeblood of the Army. There can be no substitute of this position nor any question of its importance. When First Sergeants are exceptional, their units are exceptional, regardless of any other single personality involved. Perhaps their rank insignia should be the keystone rather than the traditional diamond. It is the First Sergeant at whom almost all unit operations merge. The First Sergeant holds formations, instructs Platoon Sergeant, advises the Commander, and assists in training of all enlisted members.
Anyone who holds the billet of the First Sergeant is called by First Sergeant, regardless of actual administrative rank.
Requirements
- No Negative Counseling Statements during the last ninety (90) days.
- No Article 15 in the last sixty (60) days.
- Assigned to a Company First Sergeant Billet or assigned as NCOIC of a department.
- Important part of Platoon and Secondary Billet activities.
- Ability to assist the Company Commander and XO or serve in their absence.
- Ability to write Company Status Reports.
- Ability to actively participate in Command Staff activities and forums.
- Sets the standard of excellence in leadership throughout the Regiment.
- Demonstrated reputation of success as a Platoon Sergeant.
- Completion of SGM Academy.
Minimum TIG
- One (1) month as a Platoon Sergeant.
- AND
- Minimum of eight (8) months in service for the Right to Rebel
