These are the current guidelines issued 07/26/2013 to form a check list from: The Guidelines set within the RTRWIKI for each rank should be followed. Please refer to the MILPACS for OIC's,CO's and Post holders.
Promotions will be done on the first of each month.
E-1 TO E-5
- Requirements set within the RTRWIKI for each Grade
- Approved by Company First Sergeant
- Can be Approved by a Sr. Post holder WITHIN the Chain of command ( ie Division Sergeant Major, Command Sergeant Major, Platoon Leader, Company Command,Division Staff)
E-6 TO E-8 ( MASTER SERGEANT ONLY)
- Requirements set within the RTRWIKI for each Grade
- Approved by the Division Sergeant Major
- Can be Approved by a Sr. Post holder WITHIN the Chain of command ( ie Command Sergeant Major, Platoon Leader, Company Command)
E-8 TO E-9*
- Requirements set within the RTRWIKI for each Grade
- Sergeant Major of the Army
- E-9* Promotions require a unanimous vote of ALL active duty Sergeant Majors
O-1 to 0-2
- Requirements set within the RTRWIKI for each Grade
- Approved by the Sergeant Major of the Army
O-3
- Requirements set within the RTRWIKI for each Grade
- Nomination by the Sergeant Major of the Army
- Nomination by the acting Division Leader
- Approved by the acting Commanding General of the Division
O-4
- Requirements set within the RTRWIKI for each Grade
- Nomination by the acting Commanding General of the Division or Division Command
- Unanimous vote of the Joint Chief of Staff
O-5 and UP
- Requirements set within the RTRWIKI for each Grade
- Must be approved by the Joint Chiefs of Staff
