A division is a term utilized by the United States Military.  A division is commanded by a Major General, consists of approximatelly 10,000 to 15,000 soldiers, and generally consists of 3 elements, each the size of a brigade.  The division is able to conduct sustained battles and conduct large-scale tactical operations for the corps.
